4th of July

Anthony and I went to the Phoenix 4th of Zooly. While the idea sounded awesome, the execution was not. It started at 6 pm so it wasn't to hot, but most of the animals had already been put to bed so we did not get to see very many of them. Included in the ticket price was an all you can eat BBQ of hamburgers, hot dogs and limited amount of veggie burgers, plus V.I.P. seating of the fireworks at Tempe Town Lake.

We took a tram ride around the zoo, the guy discussed the various animals that were not out. We then had dinner, which was nothing spectacular except for the chocolate chip cookies which were awesome. Then we listened to some music and got shuttled to the V.I.P. seating. The seating was anything but V.I.P. it was in the back lot behind the zoo on what looked to be the loading dock. The view was obstructed by palm trees and we were so packed in to the small space that it was to hot to even sit. I also had never been to this zoo and did not realize how far the Tempe Town Lake was from the zoo. Unfortunately we will never attend this event again.

I do however want to go back to the zoo and see the animals we did not get to see.

Just Another Day

So it's been awhile since my last post. So much has happened.

The Census job is really starting to suck! On Monday June 28th they announced that Saturday July 3rd was mandatory overtime - keep in mind that there is already unlimited overtime allowed during the week. There was rumor that Monday (the paid holiday) would be mandatory but it turned out to be optional. I took the points hit for not going in on Saturday but did work 4 hours on Monday. This Saturday the 10th again is mandatory overtime. Money is nice, but the job is wearing me out.

My youngest son Anthony was leaving for his gramma's house on the 6th and I wanted to spend time with him before he left.

First Post

So I have never been a blogger. I thought I would try this out if for nothing more than a place to get things off my chest.

I am a single mom of three ages 19/male, 18/female and 12/male. They all still live at home with me. Sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing.

I got hit by the lay off frenzy in April 2009. I worked for Sundt Construction and let me tell you I LOVED that job. But I guess I am not good enough at being an ass kisser!!! I have never lost a job and it was devastating! Took awhile to get the wind back in my sails but I'm back for better or worse and I have survived.

After working the last year at a couple of temporary jobs I landed a temp job with the 2010 Census and I can tell you some stories. But it's late and I really should be getting to bed.

More to come!!
